Carson's Karate

Carson starts up karate again today.  He's going with our neighbors, Will and Alissa.  (Their mom watches Carson after school for me when I'm working.)  I'm so happy that this worked out since we bought him the uniform for his first class, but he never wore it since it was way too big.  Now it fits him really well with some room to grow.  I also never got a picture from his last class.  (I know, what?!  How is that possible?!)  Made sure I took a couple before class this time AND in his uniform!  Yay for me and the future scrapbooking page I'm forming in my head already.  :)

And, yes, that is a double wide gap you see in the karate pictures.  He lost his other front tooth on the way home from a friend's birthday party during Spring Break.

Mall Trip with 7 year olds

Play area where they used to play as toddlers.
Carson had the day off from school yesterday, along with his friend, Garrett, so I took them to the library first, then the mall and Toys R Us while their younger brothers were at preschool for the morning.  Let's see, we had hot chocolate at Nordy's Cafe, played around in Build-a-Bear, played video games in the Lego Store, and toured the entire Toys R Us store, including some dancing in the aisles and Garrett's double hoola hooping.  Whew, no wonder I was exhausted by lunch!

Monkeying Around

Click on the collage to enlarge.
Had a nice visit with Curious George today at the Children's Museum.  The boys spent a good amount of time in that exhibit area, then explored other areas, excited to see updated exhibits since our last visit.  Because I am such a smart mommy :), we did the face painting second to last, and the water works area very last.  I'm thinking these three will sleep really well tonight and wishing Daddy good luck at getting all of the face paint off before bed time!

A Pirate Themed Nerftastic 7th Birthday

Carson had a blast turning seven today.  Five Nerf guns (which he LOVES as do Ben & Gavin), Legos, games, clothes, $$.  Such a lucky boy!

We celebrated with family and friends from school, the neighborhood, and his friends since birth.  Pretty sure a fun time was had by all.

Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!

Gavin & Ben showing their cat tails.
The Cat in the Hat is one of our favorite movies and the boys love reading Dr. Seuss stories.  My friend, Kelly, made these hats for the boys two years ago and they love to put them on every now and then.  They were all excited to wear these in celebration of Dr. Seuss' birthday today, although none of them wore the hats at school, just around the house beforehand.  I, however, wore my hat all day today!  I subbed in 4th grade and the students seemed to enjoy that I dressed up for the occasion.

Snow Day!

It finally came!  Enough snow early this morning for all districts in our area to close down for the day.  The streets were easily drivable by 9 AM, however, and the snow is nearly all melted in our area now.  (2 PM)

Carson has been outside since 7 AM, preparing to go out at 6:30.  He finally came in for breakfast at 10:30, then lunch again at 1:30.  Other than the 15-20 minutes he spent inside for those meals, he's been outside now for SEVEN hours!

Ben, Gavin, Brian, and I spent a little over an hour outside this morning from about 8-9 or so.  The snow started coming down again around 8:30, but let up and has been melting ever since.

It's a beautiful day out with blue skies even first thing this morning.  Fun to have a snow day, but hoping school is back in session tomorrow and that streets are safe tonight and in the morning.

Carson's Gap

Showing his fifty cent piece from the tooth fairy.
Carson lost his first tooth!  (That came out by itself, that is.)  He had his bottom front teeth pulled by the dentist since they weren't budging and his adult teeth were already in.  His top front tooth was nice and wiggly for him and it came out while eating breakfast.  A nice, bloody start to the day.
