A yurting we will go!

We spent part of Spring Break yurting along the coast.  This was the first camping trip for all three boys and an experience they thoroughly enjoyed.  Although it rained the first night there, the weather was terrific for the remaining two days.  Visited the aquarium, ate at Mo's, biked, walked to the beach, ran up and down the beach cliff, roasted marshmallows, and climbed trees.

Gavin's writing

Gavin is now writing his name . . . backwards.  Carson spells out both of their names and Gavin loves to write them out.  He started out writing them backwards, but is now happily writing them the correct way.   (His n's look more like n's now instead of upside down y's as well.)

Helloooo Spring!

The sun's been out and we've been loving it!  We've been playing in the backyard this week and spent some time at a park with our friend, Merrick, earlier today.

The Leprechaun's Gold

I got the boys out of bed this morning by asking them if they wanted to see what the leprechaun left for them and Carson beelined to the family room to see if the little green man had messed it all up.  I told him that since we have three boys that all enjoy making messes, the leprechaun must have given us a break and left everything in it's place.  He did leave some green coins and shamrocks along with the necklaces and headbands for the boys to wear today.

Play Time!

Having fun at the pizza & play place.

Earlier today, dressed as the Ping Pong Cowboys (Backyardigans reference)

Playing Legos in Carson's room this morning.

We're currently at a local pizza & play place, burning off some energy.  I've had free passes since the fall and here we're finally using them!  Our neighbor girls stopped by just as we were leaving the house, so I invited them along.  Sweet, babysitters to boot!  They're all having a fun time while I'm snapping pictures and surfing the net.  Not bad for a Tuesday afternoon.

Out of this World Space Party

The wind blew, but the rain held off until the party was over.  Today, with hail and snow (yep, it's crazy!), I'm so glad the weather was what it was for us yesterday at the park.  Saturday was beautiful, but the parks were packed, so Sunday turned out to be a great day for Carson's party.

Along with local family, all of the kiddos from Carson's kindergarten class and his best friends from over the years made it to the party, along with their younger siblings and parents.  We had cake, took turns trying to break the pinata, and Carson opened presents.  He made out in the present department with a Transformer, Zhu Zhu pet, Spiderman toy, beautiful books, a cool space mobile, money for karate lessons, dress up clothes, zoo membership renewal, summer clothes, and lots and lots of Legos, plus a Lego Store gift card!  Carson's one lucky and happy birthday boy!

Carson turned 6 today!

Today is Carson's "golden" birthday-6 on the 6th.  He opened presents this morning from Mom & Dad, some family and family friends.  He got a cozy comforter from Uncle Brad which he is excited to use since we just pile blankets on him right now.  He was pleasantly surprised with an Indiana Jones hat, satchel, and legos from Angie, which was great since it's the only toy item he received today.  (I figured he'd open lots of toy presents at his party tomorrow.)  He loved all of the cash he got, too.  It was burning a hole in his pocket all day.  He's on the search to buy a bell and streamers for his bike now.  He also tried to buy a necklace for me with his money, but I thanked him and told him the money was for him to use on himself.  Such a sweetie!

It was fun skyping with Great Grandma Charlotte and Great Grampa Howard today in California.  The rest of the grandparents will be at the party tomorrow along with his kindergarten class and a few boys he's been good friends with since birth.  The weather was awesome today and the forecast is looking good for tomorrow's party at the park.  Yay!
