Pumpkin Carving & Masks from Preschool

The boys were so excited to carve pumpkins, but when it came to taking out the "guts," they left that up to Brian and me.  Ben's pumpkin is a "Pirate Pumpkin," Gavin's is a "Happy Pumpkin," and Carson's is an "Angry Pumpkin."
The boys came home earlier this week with these masks!
Gavin went to sleep with his on last night.

Trick-or-Treat Time at Daddy's Work

It's been a tradition of ours since Carson was little to go trick-or-treating in Brian's office.  The boys all had parties at their schools and by the time we made it to see Brian, it was almost 3 PM and the boys were all getting somewhat cranky.  They do tend to take turns, however, so Ben was first, then Gavin when we were finished, then Carson on the way home.  Happy that it's Friday, that's for sure!

Feet & Paper Fanatics

The boys are into using paper, paper, and yet more paper these days.  They've made hundreds of paper airplanes over the past few months;  Carson has printed off numerous pictures from Disney or Starfall websites (without us knowing sometimes);  and the latest craze:  Mazes.  They have gone through all of their coloring and activity books, done every maze available to them inside those books, and have now moved on to drawing their own.  I have to admit, I love their creativity and the paper craze keeps them occupied and (mostly) quiet for more than five minutes at a time.  We do recycle and I'm trying to get them to use both sides and to decorate their planes (two favorites in one, right?), but man, have we gone through SO much paper lately.  I'm thinking a lesson on where paper comes from is needed and soon . . .

Oh, and I just thought Gavin's choice of shoes this afternoon was funny and had to take a picture of Ben's chalk covered legs & shoes.  Ben also covered one of the red camping chairs with yellow chalk.  At least he didn't waste any paper, right?

And as I write this, Carson and two neighbor boys are in the garage making their own creations with tape, scissors, and you guessed it, lots of paper!

Parks & Rec. Fall Festival

We joined the children's parade when we arrived at the party to find that they were asking all of the kids their names and what they were.  I didn't prep the boys on anything they said.  Carson was Indiana Jones.  Bennett said he was a "Puppy Dog."  And Gavin said he was a "Lizard," although he said he was a frog at one point and a dragon another time, while wearing the costume at home.  I wasn't sure what was going to come out of his mouth.

I was so pleased that the twins both stayed with Carson and walked around the gym in the parade, without running back to me.  That's a big step . . .

The Fall Festival is always a fun time.  We usually try to get pumpkin painting in first so that they have time to dry before we head home.  The boys spent most of the time in a game room where they won plastic fangs, silly bracelets, and Tootsie Rolls (a new favorite around here).

Forgot the name of this move

Oh, my!  So many steps to remember!  Guess we'd better practice this week in order to keep up.

Weekend Visit

Uncle Brad (Kim's brother) is up this weekend, so we got to have the family over for dinner.  Fun to get together and attempt a group picture.

Full House Pumpkin Patch Party

We spent a wet, rainy morning at the pumpkin patch for our Full House MOMS and Dads party this year.  The boys all had a fun time, though, and there was so much to do at this pumpkin patch.
