Cat in the Hat Picture Booth Collage

(Click once, then again to enlarge collage.)

I saw this idea online when I searched Dr. Seuss themed parties where someone set up a photo booth.  And the boys enjoyed doing photo booths at Carson's school carnival this past year with silly props.  I set out boas, Cat hats made by Kelly, silly glasses I bought at the Dollar Tree, and bead necklaces leftover from other events.  It was so much fun and a great way to make sure I got a picture of every guest.  I definitely plan to do something like this again at future parties.

Thing One & Thing Two turn 5!

The birthday boys, Gavin & Ben!

Grandma Joanne helping at the bookmark making table.

Grandma Michelle running the Grinch Goop.

Angie, my assistant extraordinaire, & Brian as The Cat.

Ryon, our neighbor, creating some amazing face paintings.

Grandpa Jack pouring drinks for kiddos.

The boys thought it was awesome that Brian made an appearance as The Cat!

I had so much fun and lots of help throwing this Dr. Seuss (mostly Cat in the Hat) birthday party for the twins.  I borrowed fabric and supplies from Sally, and Dr. Seuss fabric from Kelly;  Cat Hats made by Kelly;  party goodies including the blue boas, Thing party hair, & Thing cupcakes idea from Cherie (FHM MoM);  borrowed tables, benches, & more from Kelly, Cindy & Sally;  party prep, clean-up, and assistance from Angie, my mom, my dad, and Brian's mom plus most of the parents stepped in to help out during the party, especially with the extra gooey goop (Krista & Justine);  mad face painting and mask drawing skillz from Ryon; and lastly, a borrowed costume from Kim (FHM MoM) which Brian wore and was a hit!  A hug thank you to everyone!!

Pizza Party x 2 today!

Happy Birthday, Merrick!

Carson & Garrett LOVE Chuck E. Cheese.

The big kids.

Holding all of Gavin's tickets.

Gavin cashing in.
Ben at OOTW eating his ice cream since he took a nibble of his pizza.
Chuck E. Cheese is where a kid can be a kid!  And boy, do our kids LOVE it there!  Brian and Travis (Dad of the birthday boy) got in on some of the fun while shooting some hoops.  We helped our good buddy Merrick celebrate his 5th birthday with Chuck E., arriving rather late from our Full House party at OOTW.  We attempted to bribe the twins, trying to get them to just eat one bite of pizza, served at both parties, but it was a no go with the exception of a nibble of crust by Ben.  One day they will love the melted cheese with red sauce on a gooey thin piece of dough.  One day soon, I hope.

A Pirate Themed Nerftastic 7th Birthday

Carson had a blast turning seven today.  Five Nerf guns (which he LOVES as do Ben & Gavin), Legos, games, clothes, $$.  Such a lucky boy!

We celebrated with family and friends from school, the neighborhood, and his friends since birth.  Pretty sure a fun time was had by all.

Parks & Rec. Fall Festival

We joined the children's parade when we arrived at the party to find that they were asking all of the kids their names and what they were.  I didn't prep the boys on anything they said.  Carson was Indiana Jones.  Bennett said he was a "Puppy Dog."  And Gavin said he was a "Lizard," although he said he was a frog at one point and a dragon another time, while wearing the costume at home.  I wasn't sure what was going to come out of his mouth.

I was so pleased that the twins both stayed with Carson and walked around the gym in the parade, without running back to me.  That's a big step . . .

The Fall Festival is always a fun time.  We usually try to get pumpkin painting in first so that they have time to dry before we head home.  The boys spent most of the time in a game room where they won plastic fangs, silly bracelets, and Tootsie Rolls (a new favorite around here).

Pirate Party, Matey! Arrrrrgh.

We had a backyard Pirate Party for Ben and Gavin's 4th birthday.  They went on a treasure hunt with clues, played place the pirate on the treasure map, and broke open a pinata.  I made cupcakes and cakes for the boys this year and they turned out great!  (I thought so, at least.)  Definitely something I'll keep doing.

The party got really wet with squirt gun presents from Luke & Drew and Grandma & Grandpa J., and a sprinkler from Cousin Zoey.

Thanks everyone for the fun gifts and for joining in on the fun!
