Twilight Movie Sites

On the way to Forks (and on the way back), Mom and Dad stopped off in Kalama where the Forks High School scenes were filmed. (They watched the movie while in Forks and decided they needed a better picture of the front of the school and the grassy area where the picnic table scene took place.)

On Monday, the day after getting home, Kelly and Mommy ate lunch at Carver Cafe in Carver where the diner scenes were filmed.

La Push, Baby. It's . . . La Push.

First Beach with James Island in the background.

Mommy: Second Beach we just finished hiking to and now we have to climb over all of this driftwood!

Another picture of the driftwood they just climbed back over to hike back to the car.

Jacob Black's house with Jacob's motorcycle and Bella's truck in front of the garage.

The beach scenes take place in La Push and it's home to the Quileute Tribe, Jacob Black, and his pack. Mom and Dad hiked to Second Beach for the lowest tide of the month.

Twilight Tour of Forks

Bella & Charlie's house.

Not our van. Other, more obsessed fans. (Mommy only wishes she'd thought of this.)

For their 10th wedding anniversary, Mommy and Daddy went up to Forks, Washington to visit the town where the Twilight books by Stephanie Meyer take place. They had a great time finding locations from the books in Forks and LaPush.

Seattle-We made it!

This was our longest trip since Gav and Ben were born. The three hour drive turned into four, but that's not too bad! First stop, Greenwood Park to get our energy out before heading over to Daniel's house. We had a BBQ, ran around their yard, and got to share Daniel's very first bath with friends.

A little background: My daddy grew up across the street from Hil. They were in each other's weddings, and before the twins were born, my parents visited with them often. I met Daniel when I was about 16 months old and Daniel was just a couple of months old. We finally got to see each other again and meet each other's baby brothers!

Our Seattle Family-The Lyons

Sisters-in-law Melani and Kerryn with 3 week old Ella and 2 month old James. Ella was just released from the hospital the day we arrived!

Siblings: Joy, holding nephew James. James' daddy, Hil. Newest daddy, Ken, holding his daughter, Ella.

Grandma Barbara helping my daddy with my brothers in the parking lot after church at the Salvation Army where Hil plays piano and conducts the brass band. Joy and Ken also play in the band. They've been going there since they were little like us. Daddy and Uncle Bob went to the Lutheran Church just up the street. They grew up across the street from the Lyons in Seattle.

From giant soccer ball to trumpet lessons

Our last night in Seattle was spent preparing for a long ride home. First, get everyone nice and worn out by running around outside with a giant soccer ball and chased away from the stairs by "the claw", then cool off in the crab sandbox. After dinner, we went through the entire bedtime routine. Bath, pajamas, snack, allergy medicine, brush teeth, and stories with group pictures and trumpet lessons thrown in for fun.

We had a great time with Daniel, James, Kez, and Hil! Thanks for sharing all of your toys with us, Daniel! We hope to see you again soon!

Truffle Shuffle

Our first dinner at the coast was spent in Astoria for Grandma Joanne's birthday. We ate at Gino's which is located just under the Goonies house, so we had to visit. Mommy and Daddy both have stories about visiting the Goonies house as kids, but Daddy's story definitely wins. He's actually been inside! Daddy's Great Grandma Mimi dated the owner of the house, back when she was in her 80's, in the 80's. So, she took Daddy and Uncle Bob there when they were kids. How exciting!

Mommy took a picture of the elementary school where Kindergarten Cop was filmed as we drove by. My Grandpa Dennis went to school there! Also cool!

We stopped to get all of our energy out at a really fun park. Grandma Joanne found her name on the fence inside the Tot's area since she had donated money toward the new structure. Very nice!
