Baby Jesus Count

Since Carson didn't have school last Monday, and I was subbing that day, he was able to attend his old Kindergarten, where the twins attend Pre-K.  Last year, when all three were regular attenders, our Baby Jesus Count got up to 12, I believe.  This year, we are at 8, thanks to two crafts done on that Monday.  Here are the crafts from last Monday with our manger scene Baby Jesus.

Builder Boys

This is how we spent much of Saturday morning.  We were all up at 6:45 AM that day, ready to build.

So, does it look like any of the boys wanted to pose for this?  Yeah.  They were ready to head home.

We checked out a new Christmas tree farm this year and were very pleasantly surprised.  We even plan to visit again this December, just to check out more of the farm.  Brian found a section posted:  Charlie Brown Christmas Trees- $5.  His eyes sparkled as he told me this and I knew we had to get one of these trees.  I was skeptical as to what we would find.  The first tree he picked up to inspect was bent about 2/3 the way up at a 45 degree angle.  I vetoed that one immediately.  The second tree looked pretty good.  The rest were tiny.  We went with option #2.  This works for me since I don't do well with too many options.  Also, I purchased a cheap fake tree on Saturday, just anxious to get "any" tree up for the kids.  They love both, of course, so that makes us happy.

At this farm, there is a small store selling homemade crafts and goodies with a Lego and remote control train display.  The boys LOVED this.  They pushed buttons to make the trains go around while Brian took care of the tree.

Snow in November!

This may be a first for us, but I'm not really sure.  Snow day today with our 1/4 inch of snow.  Lots of ice this morning, so the cancellation was necessary.

The boys were out early this morning for their first snow play of the season.  Lots of fun tasting the snow and checking out the ice in the kiddie pool still in our backyard.  They even made a tiny snowman!

Mega Fort

In an attempt to keep all three boys happy and out of trouble (see previous post), I thought they would have fun making a Mega Fort that would cover most of the family room.  Carson and Gavin really got into it while Ben just enjoyed hanging out on the inside.  Carson had the idea of using clothes pins to secure the blankets which worked really well.  I took out a couple of king size sheets to use as well.  It would have been super fun if Carson stopped getting upset at Gavin for jumping on the top of the tent portion on the couch.  Oh, well.

Mischief Makers

When I realized I hadn't heard any noises or talking coming from the twins for probably five minutes, I went to investigate.  Silence in our house is not a good thing.  In just FIVE minutes, the boys managed to make their marks (hands, fingers, and feet marks, that is) in the bathroom, their bedroom, Carson's bedroom, the hallway, and in the dining room. 

I took out the stamps for Gavin, but Ben seemed to have the wild idea of inking up his hands and feet.  We walked through the rooms and Ben would tell me, "There's some on Carson's bed.  Sorry, Mommy," "Here's some on this door.  Sorry, Mommy," "There's more over here.  Sorry, Mommy."  It was so cute and so hard to be mad at him, especially since the ink mostly came off pretty easily.  (There's still a half foot print that won't come out of our bathroom floor for some reason.)

This morning, Brian discovered hand marks on the inside door of their bathroom while brushing Ben's teeth.  Ben's response?  "Sorry, Daddy."  So sincere, but such a stinker.

Playing with "Leafsis"

One minute we were all outside, the boys raking leaves, burying each other in them, throwing a few up in the air.  The next minute, I'm in the house while the boys are outside making "Leafville," where leaves live in piles inside containers, hats, and bags. 

The weather is gorgeous today!  70 degrees and couldn't be any nicer out.
