Trick or Treat!

The boys all had a terrific time trick or treating with other kids from our neighborhood. Carson went with Fred, his sister, and mom, at the last minute since the twins weren't quite ready and Carson had been anxious to get going. He had a blast, trick or treating for two hours! He brought home way too much candy, but after weeding out the ones he doesn't like, his pile wasn't so bad.

Ben, Gavin, Brian, and I went trick or treating with our neighbors, Katie, Emily, and Christopher, along with their parents. The girls are such big helpers! Gavin wanted to be carried almost the entire time by Brian. We're still a bit under the weather here, but nothing was going to stop those boys from going out.

The previous day, on Friday, we met up with Grandma Joanne at Brian's work to trick or treat. The boys always have fun going office door to office door. They load up on goodies way too fast this way, but they have a blast doing it.

Parks & Rec Halloween Party

An Edwardianish Vampire, a Twilight fan, and our three Sesame Street characters.

Okay, so maybe I overdid it on Brian's face. Made him a little too pale, but this was my first attempt. He won't be quite so white on Halloween night. You can't see the glitter very well in the picture, but that turned out well. While we waited a couple of minutes for some friends to arrive, I overheard a lady in front of me say to her friend, "Did you see the guy with the glitter face? His wife is wearing a shirt that says, 'I love a guy who sparkles.' " Of course, I piped in and said, "That's me!" I was just so happy that someone got it!

We got a lot of comments on Oscar the Grouch which I had stayed up until midnight the night before making. Just have to fix one of the eyes and Carson's set for Halloween.

While Mom's away . . .

During my Girl's Weekend away to scrapbook, Brian took the boys to both grandparents' houses. He dropped the twins off with my folks, while he and Carson stayed with his. Brian went to the OSU game (Carson tailgated for awhile) and helped his dad, cementing the new dock in their back yard. Carson had fun playing and shopping with Grandma.

My parents kept Ben and Gavin VERY busy as well. Ben fell asleep at 4:30 PM during the car ride home on Sunday and didn't wake up until 6:30 AM the next day! All three boys went to bed early and slept well. Quite a nice surprise!

Yes, this tiger was at the pumpkin patch!!! This place was an exotic animal rescue as well.

Gavin insisting on pulling the wagon . . . as usual.

Helping Ben feed the animals & getting my hand licked by a llama or alpaca.

To the Beach

We decided to try out a new beach today, so we followed a friend's recommendation and stopped off at Hug Point. I think we found our new favorite place to play! The cliff blocked the wind and it was the shortest walk ever to the sand! The boys had a blast in the sand and water.

Dress Up

Buzz Carson
Mike Wazowski Gavin
Spiderman Ben giving Baby a piggyback ride.

The boys love dressing up! I bought the Cookie Monster and Elmo costumes last weekend at our Full House MOMS Resale and they've worn them at least five times since! Ben refused to take his off the other day, so he walked into the library as Cookie Monster and a little boy, about the same age, exclaimed, "Hello, Elmo!" about three times. Ben didn't know how to respond since he knew he wasn't Elmo.

First and Second Day of School

First Day of Kindergarten and Preschool for Carson and Ben.

Errand number one with the "Big Boys"- Target and Starbucks waters in hand.

Errand number two-Home Depot. Carson & Drew in front of the "Robot."

Take Two-Monday, the official first day for all three boys.

Carson and his buddy, Kade.

Gavin & Luke intrigued by the magnify glasses.

Isaiah & Ben cleaning dishes.

I cannot believe they all stayed still for this picture!!

Last Friday, Ben had his first day of preschool from 9-noon, and Carson had his first day of Kindergarten from noon-3, a half day. Gavin was still getting over a cold and fever, so Brian stayed home with him in the morning.

The boys were so excited to see their friends at school! Isaiah and Luke are joining Ben and Gavin in the 3's class MWF, and Garrett will show up for lunch every Monday, so Carson is excited about that. We'll get to see Drew at drop off only, but we did enjoy a fun morning out on Friday with just the big boys and moms. Carson was happy to see his preschool friend, Kaden, back at school as well. The other kiddos in the Kinder class are all girls, only four, I think. There are a couple of other boys upstairs with the "big kids" in Pre-K as well.

This will be an interesting year with a lot of driving on my part, but I know Carson will benefit from the full day of Kindergarten. All three boys will be together during drop-off and circle time downstairs, then split up for the rest of the time. I pick up the twins at noon, then we go back for Carson at 3. When we arrive home, the cul-de-sac kids are out and we've been enjoying the weather outside, hearing about everyone's new classes or experiences.
