The Karate Kid

In the middle back.

Carson took his second karate class this spring.  My neighbor, who watches Carson for me after school, took Carson, Alissa, and Will (her children) to class every Tuesday for the past three months.  I was finally able to go since Ben didn't have speech class today.  I was really impressed with how well he did and he was a great listener.

The first video is of Carson doing the routine on his own.  In the second video he is doing the routine with our neighbors.  This was their first karate class and they tried hard, but the video is still hilarious (to me).

Light Up the Laps

This year's jog-a-thon was called Light Up the Laps with a 4th of July type of theme which was a little odd since it's May, but it was perfect since the day's weather ended up beautiful and sunny, as it should be on the 4th of July in the northwest.

Carson was in the first groups with the other first grade classes.  They started at 8:20 AM and ran for 20 minutes.  He jogged most of the time, walking a little, and ended up doing 10 laps!  I was so proud of him.

Pizza Party x 2 today!

Happy Birthday, Merrick!

Carson & Garrett LOVE Chuck E. Cheese.

The big kids.

Holding all of Gavin's tickets.

Gavin cashing in.
Ben at OOTW eating his ice cream since he took a nibble of his pizza.
Chuck E. Cheese is where a kid can be a kid!  And boy, do our kids LOVE it there!  Brian and Travis (Dad of the birthday boy) got in on some of the fun while shooting some hoops.  We helped our good buddy Merrick celebrate his 5th birthday with Chuck E., arriving rather late from our Full House party at OOTW.  We attempted to bribe the twins, trying to get them to just eat one bite of pizza, served at both parties, but it was a no go with the exception of a nibble of crust by Ben.  One day they will love the melted cheese with red sauce on a gooey thin piece of dough.  One day soon, I hope.

Toy Story Legos

The boys got Legos from "Auntie" Angie for Easter, including Buzz Lightyear's rocket.  Before putting the rocket together, the twins made their own rocket ships, then Carson used what was left.  They used every single Lego from the box.  I think their ships turned out pretty cool.  Fun to see how they use their imaginations with Legos. :)

Egg Huntin'

All so excited to see the Easter Bunny!

Our friends, Ella, Krista, Boden, Ryan, & Tia.

Carson and Ella scoured the area hoping to find any stray eggs.
With so many choices on where to go for an Easter egg hunt today, we decided to check out the one at our local elementary school today, where Carson attends.  We ran into neighbor/church friends and Carson's classmates.  A local church put on the event and did a fantastic job. There were lots of eggs and even more kiddos!  Our three were the only ones with bunny ears, so it made finding them on the playground or during the hunt a little easier.

Egg Decoratin'

The egg dying process is always fun for the boys and teaches them patience which they are in dire need of practicing.  We only had one casualty, so we ended up with 14 colored eggs.  (Don't ask about the amount, I just grabbed some to boil and didn't pay attention to how many.)

The twins had an Easter Egg hunt at school this morning where Gavin collected all yellow eggs aside from one green one.  Yellow is Gavin's second favorite color he tells me.  Ben's were a variety of colors.  All filled with jelly beans which they continued to taste, then spit into the sink, saying they were spicy.  They must have had chocolate in some of the eggs earlier or for a party since Gavin's face was smeared with chocolatey goodness when I picked them up.
